Why is that it is well documented that conservatives are bigger givers than liberals? Is it that what liberals really want is to take your money and allocate how they see fit. I could go on, but this is not the place......Abominable Snowmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16288985190532891630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967655428052602147.post-58459821943065100672008-02-01T13:09:00.000-08:002008-02-01T13:09:00.000-08:00You should have been studying to be an economist. ...You should have been studying to be an economist. :-)

I listened to an interview of Thomas Sowell a few days ago. He talked about being an idealistic college student participating in a debate. He came up with a wonderful solution to some problem and proudly proclaimed it. His professor then said "And then what?" Dr. Sowell tried to answer that as best he could and then his professor said "And then what?" This went on for several rounds until Dr. Sowell realized that his "wonderful" idea was really not at all wonderful. He said he's never forgotten that. We should always apply the "and then what" test when something SOUNDS good.Abominable's Main Squeezehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16774966759682766482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5967655428052602147.post-10315311554154570132008-02-01T06:12:00.000-08:002008-02-01T06:12:00.000-08:00That is always the problem, isn't it? It's not that we should give up hope on, say, ending poverty or reducing human impact on the environment or ending the war in Iraq. But I think some people (including politicians, of course) are too focused on the quick and easy fix...which doesn't even exist in the first place.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01690477015680812905noreply@blogger.com
